AUTHOR EVENT: IN THE TROLL KITCHEN: Come one, come all and celebrate the coming of autumn!
The talented taste-bud tempters at Standard Fare are hosting an evening of seasonal recipes and good times inspired by The Troll Cookbook. Can you join us?
IN THE TROLL KITCHEN
Hosted by The Troll Cookbook creators Karima Cammell and Clint Marsh
Saturday, September 24 7pm - 9pm
Standard Fare, 2701 Eighth Street #118 (at Carleton), Berkeley, California 94710
This event is free and open to the public. You can buy a copy of The Troll Cookbook at the event, or bring your own to have it signed.
A LIVING NOW AWARD: The Living Now Book Awards honor the best new books promoting healthier, more fulfilling, and productive lives. The competition is open to mainstream and independent publishers alike. This week we learned that The Troll Cookbook was among the top picks in the cookbook category!
Living Now awarded The Troll Cookbook the bronze medal, following The Love & Lemons Cookbook by Jeanine Donofrio (Penguin Random House-Avery) and Fresh Tastes from a Well-Seasoned Kitchen by Lee Clayton Roper (MLC Publishing). We send hearty congratulations to the other medalists, and our sincere thanks go out to all of you who have supported troll cooking from the get-go.
TROLLS ON THE RADIO: This summer we made journeys far and near to talk with radio hosts about The Troll Cookbook. In July, Chef Emily Peterson of "Sharp & Hot" welcomed us to the Heritage Radio studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We chatted about the joys of DIY publishing and community, looking for food close to home, and the brave everyday magic of the trolls.
A few weeks later we trekked into the West Marin wilds to visit Point Reyes Station, where we discussed family, folklore, and respect for the natural world with Jane Mickelson, host of "Questing: Where is the Path?" on KWMR.
Let's celebrate! If you're local, we hope you can come out and party with us at Standard Fare on Saturday, September 24!
With warm wishes, Karima & Clint
